Pollard Theatre's production of the Thoroughly Modern Millie, a hilarious, wacky romp will end its run May 2, 2010 in historic downtown Guthrie, OK.

Thoroughly Modern Millie follows small-town gal Millie Dillmount, who escapes to New York City hoping to find a rich man and a life of her own during the Roaring Twenties. Instead, she discovers jazz music and the flapper lifestyle, while trying to avoid traps laid by some wild criminals.

"The creators of Thoroughly Modern Millie have revisited the fun of the great American musical comedies that we grew up on," Pollard Artistic Director W. Jerome Stevenson said. "They've taken all the zany, mad-cap qualities of the Julie Andrews film and crafted a hilarious, and at times genuinely sweet, original script with a uniquely entertaining score. I think it has become so popular because the writers and composers have given us a new musical that is good, old-fashioned boy meets girl family fun!"
