Labyrinth Theater Company has announced programming for the 2015-16 season, which will include two new productions starring two of Labyrinth's most esteemed actors. Both premieres will take place at Labyrinth's Bank Street Theater (155 Bank Street) in the West Village.

This year's season exemplifies Labyrinth's commitment to representing the diverse voices of the American experience. Of the season, Mimi O'Donnell said, "I'm very excited about these plays, not only because Labyrinth will be producing the work of two up-and-coming writers with original voices, but also because the plays provide wonderful opportunities to showcase the talents of some of our most illustrious Company members."

The season begins with the world premiere of Empanada Loca, written and directed by Aaron Mark and featuring acclaimed actress and Labyrinth Theater Company member Daphne Rubin-Vega. Rubin-Vega plays Dolores, a woman now living deep under Manhattan in an abandoned subway tunnel. Inspired by the legend of Sweeney Todd, Empanada Loca is a thrilling new one-woman play about an indomitable woman who knows that in this dog-eat-dog world only one rule matters: eat or be eaten. Performances run September 30 - November 8; the show opens October 21.

Tickets, $30/$40, can be purchased beginning September 1st at labtheater.org or 212.513.1080.

In February 2016, Labyrinth will begin performances of the New York premiere of Mona Mansour's The Way West, directed by Mimi O'Donnell. The Way West centers around a mom who's a mess. Her health is failing, her financials are in the toilet, and her house is literally falling down around her. Thankfully her two daughters have come home to help her file for bankruptcy and get her life back on track-even as their own veer wildly off course. As stories are stretched and checks are forged, Mom and her daughters try to scrape a life together despite the mounting bills and the mounting evidence that the American Dream might just have gone bust. This production will feature award-winning Labyrinth company member Deirdre O'Connell, who originated the role of Mom in the world premiere of The Way West at Steppenwolf Theatre.

Labyrinth will announce additional 2015-16 programming soon.
