The Seeing Place Theater, known for intensely intimate ensemble work, presents Sam Shepard's wacky "little legend about love": A LIE OF THE MIND.

This ensemble cast features Alan Altschuler (Frog & Peach's A Midsummer Night's Dream) as Baylor, Erin Cronican (National Tour: Suds, The Rockin' 60s Musical Soap Opera, Off-Broadway: Danny and the Deep Blue Sea) as Beth, Janice Hall (Regional: James Joyce's The Dead) as Lorraine, Mary Lahti (The Seeing Place's Three Sisters) as Meg, Philip Lakin (film: "A Good Night To Die") as Mike, BranDon Walker (Off-Broadway: Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and The Seeing Place's Look Back in Anger) as Jake, Magan Wiles (Regional: Evie's Waltz) as Sally and Jason Wilson (Tour: My Soul As Witness) as Harry. BranDon Walker directs this play.

About A LIE OF THE MIND: What drives us hurt the people we love? And what stories do we tell ourselves to make it okay? In Shepard's darkly-comedic masterpiece, two estranged families are linked by a marriage both would rather forget - until a violent dispute forces them back together. Part myth, part life, part love story, this is a tale about growing up in the shadow of the American dream, about how our past generations shape our present lives, and about breaking out of the molds we inherit to find our way home. Winner of the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play in 1986, A Lie of the Mind probes the complex workings of the human heart and our ability to reconcile reality with illusion.

The show has a limited engagement tonight, March 1-17, 2013 (Wed-Sat: 7pm, Sat-Sun: 2pm) at The Seeing Place @ATA's Sargent Theater, 314 W 54th St, 4th Floor. Tickets are just $12 and are available by calling SmartTix at (212)868-4444 and at www.smarttix.com. For more information visit www.seeingplacetheater.com.

The Seeing Place Theater is an actor-driven ensemble known for its intense and intimate work - with ticket prices anyone can afford. Since 2009, we've been forcefully committed to:

THE ACTOR'S PROCESS: Through robust table work and improvisation, we focus on honoring the actor's artistry in creating a character and building a story, which extends from rehearsal into performance. It's a pro-actor philosophy, and it's rare in today's market.

ORGANIC STORYTELLING: Unlike other companies, we do not cement our choices in advance. Instead, what audiences get to see is a group of actors "in the moment" - working off one another to tell a fresh story that is never the same night to night.

COMMUNITY VALUE: We produce our shows in Hell's Kitchen in the heart of midtown Manhattan, a community hungry for strong, independent theater to combat the high priced, commercial offerings of Broadway. We've been awed by the positive response by critics & audiences about the unique, quality work we've been able to share at a price point audiences can afford - $12 a ticket.
