On Monday, October 10, 2016 The Seeing Place Theater will present a free performance of AFTER THE REVOLUTION by Amy Herzog. Winner of the NY Times "Outstanding Playwright Award," AFTER THE REVOLUTION is a bold and moving portrait of a modern American family forced to reconcile a thorny and delicate legacy created by the McCarthy era of the 1950s.

This special one night only event is a part of the TSP Unplugged Reading Series. Audiences go behind the scenes with The Seeing Place to experience work being created before your eyes by its artists "unplugged." The doors open at 7pm with snacks and a cash bar. At 7:30pm the audience will begin observing the actors in their final rehearsal, getting a special look at how the artists lay the ground-work for an evening's performance.

Around 8:15pm the reading begins, and immediately following there will be a robust discussion about what was seen: What is the modern relevance of the play? What was the play's impact on the audience and does it make us view the world differently? These and other questions will be explored during this lively event.

In AFTER THE REVOLUTION, the brilliant, promising Emma Joseph proudly carries the torch of her family's Marxist tradition, devoting her life to the memory of her blacklisted grandfather. But when history reveals a shocking truth about the man himself, the entire family is forced to confront questions of honesty and allegiance they thought had been resolved.

This special one-night only engagement is directed by BranDon Walker and stars Olivia Baseman*, Lynn Berg*, Erin Cronican*, Kevin Dwane*, Bill McAndrews, Diane Perell*, Carla Torgrimson*, and Ari Veach. Narration is provided by Sabrina Schlegel-Mejia. (* = Member of Actors' Equity)

Tickets are free but Reservations Required at www.theseeingplace.org. A $10 suggested donation will be gratefully accepted at the door.
