The Heights Players is proud to present the first play adaptation of the classic novel and cult film, The Graduate.

This stage production premiered in London in 2000. The provocative satire that deals with an aspiring middle class - complete with the grandiose expectation of parents and the reflected glory of designer offspring - comes to life on stage in Brooklyn Heights this Friday night and runs through January 25.

The well-known story of The Graduate was the quintessential hit of the 1960s. After a party at his parents' house to celebrate his graduation, Ben Braddock is initiated into sex by the woman he always addresses as Mrs. Robinson. She is middle aged and married and has a drinking problem. Mrs. Robinson also happens to be a friend of Ben's parents. As Ben journeys on his sexual odyssey, his parents pressure him to take out a girl his own age. Of course, this girl is none other than Mrs. Robinson's daughter, Elaine.

"Benjamin's got excellent grades, very proud parents and, since he helped Mrs. Robinson with her zipper, a fine future behind him." If you loved the movie, have watched it more times than you care to count, then you owe it to yourself to see what happens when the story of Ben Braddock unfolds live on stage. If you're only vaguely aware of the hype behind The Graduate, then what better way to become more familiar with the story, the allure and the sparkling satire than by seeing it in the intimate John Bourne Theater at the Heights Players?
