Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival Presents
"Clown! Do Some Ballet!"
A Movement Driven Dance and Clown Show About the Joys and Sorrows of Daily Life

"Clown! Do Some Ballet!" is an interdisciplinary solo performance piece created, choreographed and performed by Elizabeth Gannon that fuses concepts of dance, ballet, theater and clown performance. The performance tells the story of Clown, a surprisingly empathetic character who is constantly challenged by the pitfalls of everyday life. Ilanna Saltzman will direct.

"Clown! Do Some Ballet!" is a one-woman show that follows the character Clown through her daily life. Clown experiences many emotions, ranging from joy to defeat, happiness to sorrow, and discovers a new way of expression through her dance. The story is explored in a series of dance vignettes. The music encompasses a variety of genres, ranging from jazz to pop-dance music. Gannon is also the costume designer.
