What if the one person who has vowed to love you... for better or for worse... in sickness and in health... took you away... from everyone that you cherish? From everything that sustains you? In essence, the sum of yourself. Where would you go? What would you do?

These are the questions that are explored in THE YELLOW WALLPAPER, a one-woman play adapted by Greg Oliver Bodine from the classic, short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, directed by DeLisa M. White and starring Annalisa Loeffler in a Limited Engagement Special Event at WorkShop Theater Company, tonight, January 16-26 in the Jewel Box Theater, 312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor. Running time is approx. 75 minutes with no intermission.

First published in 1891 in New England Magazine, "The Yellow Wallpaper" is widely regarded as an important early work of American feminist literature, illustrating attitudes in the 19th century toward women's physical and mental health, and tells the story of one woman's isolation, obsession, and descent into madness.

Greg Oliver Bodine (Playwright / Set & Sound Designer) was recently seen in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (Freddie) and The Baltimore Waltz (Third Man) with Retro Productions. Other actor / writer credits include Johnny in his one-act, The Fatw? of Corpsman Johnny Jones (Semi-finalist, 2012 Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival) and Montresor / Alfred in his solo adaptation of two Edgar Allan Poe short stories, Poe, Times Two (2012 NYIT Award nominee for Outstanding Solo Performance).
