Theater Ten Ten announces its winter mainstage production for the 2008-2009 season, George Bernard Shaw's rarely produced "The Philanderer." The show will run February 13th through March 15th, 2009. Press is invited beginning Sunday, February 15th.

Prolific playwright G. B. Shaw (1856-1950) authored more than sixty plays. Nearly all of his writings deal sternly with prevailing social problems, but are leavened by a vein of comedy to make their stark themes more palatable. The Philanderer is a comedy where the charismatic Leonard Charteris is a philosophizing philanderer who believes that only conventional people marry while advanced people form "charming friendships." But when he meets a self-described "new women" who belongs only to herself and is the property of no man, he may have met his match, if not his mate! It is one of the three plays Shaw published as Plays Unpleasant in 1898, because its purpose is to raise awareness of social problems. We welcome exciting up and coming director, Leah Bonvissuto (Lincoln Centers Directors Lab, NYC Fringe Fest) to the helm.

The creative staff and crew feature, Sherrice Kelly (Lighting Design), Mira Veikley (Costume Design), David Fuller (Set Design), Kate Friedberg (Asst. Costume Designer), Anna Hemphill (Production Stage Manager), Shauna Horn (Asst, Director), Brittney McAden (Asst. Stage Manager).

The cast includes, Anne Gill*, Tatiana Gomberg* (2008 Innovative Theater Award Nominee-Outstanding Featured Actress), Duncan Hazard*, Shauna Horn, Greg Horton* (2006 Innovative Theater Award Winner- Outstanding Lead Actor), Barrie Kreinik*, Mickey Ryan, and Julian Stetkevych* (Northanger Abbey)
