Squeaky Bicycle Productions to Present TALES OF LOVE & LASERS, 5/6-21
Tickets to the world-premiere production of Tales of Love & Lasers are on sale to the general public. Following the critical success of 2013's Alligator Summer, Squeaky Bicycle Productions presents an evening of innovative comedic adventures by W.M. Akers. The stories in Tales of Love & Lasers explore the unique pitfalls that come with interstellar love and friendship, utilizing the same group of actors in the repertory production. The collection was developed through Squeaky Bicycle's annual Winter Reading Lab.
"We aim to give actors a safe space to explore their abilities, and imagination plays are fertile ground for such experiments," said Director Kathryn McConnell. "Will (Akers) has developed an incredible voice as a playwright and we are thrilled to get his kick-ass characters up off the page."
Tales of Love & Lasers will run May 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, and 21 at 7 PM. The cast features Kate Garfield, Kevin Russo, and Nathan Brisby. Tales of Love & Lasers includes "Hyperion Calling" directed by Kerry Kastin.
Featuring some of the most singularly badass women and men to ever walk the cosmos, the stories of Tales of Love & Lasers are an exhilarating reminder that in space, no one can hear you say "I love you."
The Drilling Company is located at 236 West 78th Street.
