SPICA 8 PRODUCTIONS announces the production of James Haigney?s THE WOMAN STANDING ON THE MOON, directed by Benard Cummings. THE WOMAN STANDING ON THE MOON will play a limited engagement at the Theatre at 30th Street (Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street, nr 8th Avenue). Performances begin Thursday, September 15 and continue through Sunday, October 2. Opening Night is Friday, September 16(8 p.m.). Press are invited to all performances, on and after, September 16.

On a shoot in Fayetteville, North Carolina, filming a documentary on extremism in America, Mary Latrobe is drawn into a labyrinth of complex relationships - a charismatic soldier and his psychic wife and Latrobe?s ex-husband, David, a history professor at a local college.

Grief, masked by politics, soon gives way to an intimate, haunted journey. What lies at the heart of this labyrinth? Is it something to be feared or an unexpected, mysterious hope? A world in pieces; where the way we hope may be the greatest threat of all.

The production features scenic design by Christopher Thompson, lighting design by Gregory Solomon, sound design by Scott O?Brien, video design by Kevin Frech, and costume design by Hanadi Khurma. Julie Busch is the stage manager.
