Novo Novus Productions to Present REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH, Begin. 2/10

Family triumph and turmoil rock upper Manhattan as Novo Novus Productions presents the world premiere of REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH, a new drama by Dane Joseph about a Detroit family muddling through the loss of a loved one. Presented as part of Cabrini Repertory Theater's Venus/Adonis Festival, performances are February 10, 14 & 16 in NYC. "REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH is a stirring, yet familiar portrait of the tragic events and words that can often strain family relationships," notes playwright Dane Joseph. "The play not only examines these circumstances, but also the love that keeps families together instead of tearing them apart in the face of adversity."

In REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH, the Hardin family has gathered to plan the funeral of a troubled loved one whose body was gruesomely found only days earlier. As preparations get underway, forgotten memories resurface and unsettled wounds reopen leading the family to question the true meaning of love and loss.

The play features Donald Dashiell as "Tommy," Kilvin Johnson, Jr. as "Aaron," Arlene McGruder as "Vera," Charlene Modeste as "Nancy," Devon Settles, Jr. as "Raymond," and Akiyaa Wilson as "Jeanette." Dane Joseph helms the production team as director, with award-winning producer Daniel Armando serving as assistant director and indie-darling Adrienne Lovette serving as associate producer.

Dane Harrington Joseph (director & playwright) is an artist based in New York City by way of Detroit, MI. He is the creator, executive producer, and writer of Drama Queenz, one of the longest-running hit comedy web series to date that has been featured at pride parades and film festivals across the country. In addition to Drama Queenz, he has written and produced the upcoming feature film Subways and served as Executive produce on the feature film What it Was. Additionally, he produced the short films Boys Like You (Winner, Best Male Short, 2011 North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Film Festival) and Where Truth Lies (Official Selection, 2012 San Diego Black Film Festival), and the documentary series Fade In, and served as the Assistant Director on the hit musical concert Fabulous One More Time, coming off-Broadway in 2014. Having recently earned his earned his masters from Columbia University, he has worked at Hot Snakes Media, DiGa Vision, True Entertainment, CNBC, NBC Universal, the Obie Award-winning Flea Theater, the Tony Award-winning Roundabout Theater Company, and regional theater powerhouse Paper Mill Playhouse, as well as performing as an actor in the national tour of Elton John's and Tim Rice's Aida. He is also a magna cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University (B.A., History & Economics; Economics Honors Citation) and the Interlochen Arts Academy, and is a proud member of The Writers Guild of America-East.

Daniel Armando (assistant director) is the award-winning Executive Producer/Director /Writer of Boys Like You (winner "Best Male Short," North Carolina Int'l Gay and Lesbian Film Festival) and upcoming feature film What it Was. As a theater artist, he has toured both nationally and internationally. Notable credits include Fame (European Tour) and Captain Louie (National Tour).

REFLECTIONS IN A DITCH runs February 10 at 8:45pm, February 14 at 7pm, and February 16 at 2pm. The Cabrini Repertory Theatre is located at 701 Fort Washington Ave. in Upper Manhattan between 190th St. and Cabrini Blvd., close to the A subway line.
