On the Air, a new musical, inspired by the lives of sibling performers Jack and Loretta Clemens, will be presented with a fully staged workshop production by Overtures at The Gallery Players in Brooklyn, NY. The show will have a total of 5 performances, May 18th at 8pm, May 19th at 8pm, May 20th at 2pm and 8pm, and May 21st at 3pm.

On the Air has had two successful NYC Industry Readings directed by Hunter Foster, most recently at the York Theatre Company Off Broadway. The show was presented as part of the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival PiTCH Series and was a semi-finalist for this year's FWD Theatre Project as well as a finalist for the Santa Fe Musical Theatre Festival and the Rhinebeck Writer's Retreat.

The new musical features a book by real-life siblings Robert and Cristina Farruggia, who also co-wrote the lyrics, with music by Robert Farruggia. They will be starring as the two siblings, Jack and Loretta. Greg Santos directs a cast including Mary Chesterman as Mrs. Clemens, Aaron Riesebeck as Fred Tupper, and Tommy J. Dose as Bob White. The ensemble will feature Krista Buccellato, Missy Dowse, Corey John Hafner, Lucy Horton, Adam Machart, and Blake Zolfo.

The production will have choreography by Danielle Mia Diniz and musical direction by Brandon Magid. Paul Masse will serve as Music Supervisor.

On the Air, according to press notes, is "a homage to the golden age of musical theatre and inspired by the real life story of Jack and Loretta Clemens, a sibling Vaudeville duo who went on to star in Radio and Television. It's a story that deals with major changes in society and entertainment throughout the early half of the 20th century, but more importantly, how two siblings deal with their careers, relationships, and discovering what is truly important to them."

The Gallery Players is located at 199 14th St. Brooklyn, NY. The performances are open to the public with tickets at $18. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.ontheairthemusical.com. Industry folk interested in attending should email ontheairthemusical@gmail.com and indicate their affiliation.
