Horse Trade Theater Group will present RadioTheatre and their original, live, audio-theatre adaptation by Dan Bianchi of MEET JOHN DOE, Frank Capra's 1940 Oscar nominated classic, which starred Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck. The story takes place in NYC at Christmas time during the Depression, when America's economy is at an all-time low. In order to sell papers, a reporter's fraudulent story turns a tramp into a national hero and makes him a pawn of wealthy businessmen who wish to create a third political party and take over the country. MEET JOHN DOE will be performed complete with a great cast of storytellers, an original orchestral score and a plethora of sound effects.

Tickets ($18/$15 students) are available online at www.horseTRADE.info or by calling Smarttix at 212-868-4444. All performances are at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) Friday, December 13 at 8pm, Saturday, December 14 at 8pm, Sunday, December 15 at 3pm, Thursday, December 19 at 8pm, Friday, December 20 at 8pm, Saturday, December 21 at 8pm, Sunday, December 22 at 3pm, and Sunday, December 29 at 3pm.

Now, in its 10th Season, Radiotheatre has performed over 60 shows in NYC and has been nominated for a 2010 Drama Desk Award, 13 New York Innovative Theatre Awards; Winner of 2 NYIT Awards; Nom. 5 times Best Performance Group.

RADIOTHEATRE is NOT an old time radio show...rather, it relies on the combination of Story Telling, great voices, music and sound design...as well as, the individual imaginations of its audiences. These primary ingredients are used to provide a memorable, live, theatrical experience. Of course, we do like to add some 21st Century touches...such as cinematic scripts, original orchestral sound tracks which you won't hear anywhere else, a plethora of aural effects and, sometimes, a few visuals, too...creating a unique production with non-traditional, modern, innovative stage presentation!

HORSE TRADE THEATER GROUP is a self-sustaining theater development group; with a focus on new work, it has produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater. Horse Trade's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent Theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy.
