FACT Theatre's 2012 GAYLICIOUS PLAY FESTIVAL Set for Stonewall, 11/18-26

Friends Always Creating Theatre, a not-for-profit Theatre Company founded by Jack Dyville and David Gillam Fuller is presenting the 4th annual Gaylicious Play Festival. For the first time this will be presented at the historic Stonewall Sunday, November 18 at 3:00 pm, Monday, November 19 at 7:30 pm, Sunday, November 25 at 3:00 pm, Monday, November 26 at 7:30 pm.

Gaylicious features six plays that have been selected from a nation-wide submission. The plays are:

AND SOMETIMES THE TWAIN DOES MEET by Bill Kozy. The story involves a student and a hustler who meet and find they have some things in common. Mr. Kozy is a playwrite, actor and director. He has been a long time contributor to FACT theatre. The play features Jack DeLorenzo as Martin, Mr. DeLorenzo is a member of FACT and has appeared in numerous plays in New York. He was the Stepbrother in a modern day Cinderella story featured in last year’s GAYLICIOUS festival. Jeremiah Jurkiewicz is Angel. Mr. Jerkiewicz recently appeared with the Naked Theatre at the Producer’s Club.

BLAME IT ON THE BABY was written and is being directed by Jack Dyville, FACT’S founding producer. Mr. Dyville has dozens of scripts published by Dramatic Publishing LLC and is an actor, director and producer for FACT. Blame it on the Baby focuses on Daddy and Daddie who welcome a new addition the their world. The play was first presented at ART/NY for FACT’S Words and Wine and has been featured in other New York play festivals. Kyle James Johnson, who is currently Prince Sacho in A Mermaid’s Tale at the Triad, will be featured as Daddie. Charles Malcom who is Zog in Mermaid’s Tale and ws Henry IV at the Looking Glass Theatre is Daddy. Tym Moss, star of “Girl, A Lopsided Tree Whon’t Ruin Christmas and host of Artists Exposed will play the baby.

CRUISE FROM HELL also written and directed by Jack Dyville is best described as La Cage Aux Folles broadsides the Love Boat features Fred Bender from The Heights Players production of Twentieth Century as Geoffry. Andrew Dorph Cap’n Bill in A Mermaid’s Tale at Secre Theatre and Robert Gates-Commander in Chief on Discovery Military Channel and the Priest in Celebrity Ghost Stories, plays Capt. Stubing. Andrew Pollard plays Edwina, having previously performed All This Intimacy, For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls and Ivan-Dinner and Sex Upstairs at CUNY.

LATE NIGHT VISITOR by Julia Genoveva, a writer and actress who is currently featured as Anissa Nunez in Juan and Emmet at the Producer’s Club and is a regulary FACT contributor, contrived a play where a great night out gets spoiled…when reality arrives. Bridget is played by Emily de Villa who was a principal in Written Out by Juliet O’Reilly. Jerry is portrayed by Jeremiah Jurkiewicz and AJ by Fabian Zarta wo appeared in Here we are at the Living Theatre and is the lead in the upcoming 2013 Latino Film Jardin de Mariposas –Butterfly Garden.

THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR which examines exactly how far friends are willing to go is by Mark-Eugene Garcia. His play Missed Connections was developed at FACT and which has been produced in several festivals. Rodrigo Ernesto Bolanos, who is an actor as well as director of FACT’S production of Reluctant Savior last year at The Secret Theatre and is designer for The Mermaid’s Tale at the Triad will be Dan and Ellie is portrayed by Paige Felicia Mitchell who currently can be seen as Oceana in A Mermaid’s Tale at the Triad.

WITH OR WITHOUT NUTS by Edward J. Thomas is Directed by Mike Metzel and features Jillian Roppolo Jacobs and Kaylee Souther. In a piece describes as “A timely confection”. Ms. Rappolo Jacobs was the Macaw in Treasure at the Secret Theatre and Kaylee Souther appeared in Mulatta Saga, Mulatto’s Dilemma, and Diary of a Mulatto Bride all films.

The evening is being hosted by Dixie Delight also known as Kaycee Cardin recently featured in Redneck Rehab and is Merla in A Mermaid’s Tale at the Triad. And Jacque le Strappe also known as Eric Pagan who currently is Prince Sacho in A Mermaid’s Tale. The MC’s will bring together this evening of plays focusing on many aspects of life featuring gay characters in diverse situations.
