Dream Builders announces the extension of Terri Mateer's A KIND SHOT through May 2 at Davenport Theatre. Previews began January 16 with opening night on Friday, January 23. Now, additional performances have been added April 3 - May 2.

In A KIND SHOT, 6'1" blonde spitfire Terri Mateer vividly tells the story of becoming a professional women's basketball player. Raised in a hippie household without a father figure, an African American surrogate father introduces a shy, tall sixth grader to the joys of basketball. Even though she is a natural at the sport, she dreams of becoming an architect. Thus Terri begins an unbelievable journey that includes modeling, stripping, becoming a drag queen, group therapy, designing erotica and, eventually, playing pro basketball in France. It's an uplifting, honest, no-holds-barred personal account that illustrates that we all occasionally need a coach and a bit of kindness as we take a lot of shots at life.

Mateer has workshopped A KIND SHOT at numerous venues including The New York International Fringe Festival, The Barrow Group, Under St. Marks, and The Nuyorican Poets Café. She currently lives in Woodstock, NY where she runs Hearts Bend Landscaping.

A KIND SHOT runs April 3 - May 2, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:00 PM. Davenport Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street between 8th and 9th Aves -- accessible from the A,C,E,N,R trains at 42nd Street. Tickets are $18, available at 212-868-4444 or www.SmartTix.com.
