David Burnham, Broadway Star of Wicked, Light in the Piazza, and Joseph returns to New York in his directorial debut with Happy 50ish! The Mid-Life Crisis Comedy Musical, playing at Stage 72 at the Triad in November 2013. Burnham's feel for the audience and his impeccable comedic talents are what led to Happy 50ish! being a West Coast Mega Hit. The OC Register says Happy 50ish is "a ridiculously entertaining, jewel of a show."

Burnham will provide a Talk-Back session and a Very Special Live Performance after each of the two shows. David will talk about the experience of Directing and Co-Writing this very funny and heartwarming show, and then perform live on stage as an added bonus mini-concert to our lucky audience!

"I loved directing this show," says Burnham. "I'm also part of the writing team as well; however I must admit I didn't get a lot of the mid-life crisis jokes at first. I didn't even know who the AARP was!"

Happy 50ish! stars Lynn Shore as Bob, a 50-year old man struggling with his mid-life crisis. He's become grumpy, strange, and weird. His best friend, Mike, played by Mark Vogel decides to help Bob's wife, Pam throw a surprise birthday party to help cheer him up. When Pam gets hung up and can't arrive on time, Mike has to take over the reigns. We soon learn Bob's troubles; he's had his first colonoscopy, the AARP is after him, he can't Pee, and how he wants a Harley...what's next, the Little Blue Pill?

"Lynn and Mark are incredibly talented," adds Burnham. "Their ability to carry this show with just the two of them, on stage for the entire act is remarkable. Their singing and comedic talents really shine in this very funny, yet heartwarming show. I'm very proud to have co-written Happy 50ish!, and set my stamp on it as director. I love comedy, and this was right up my alley."

Happy 50ish! The Mid-Life Crisis Comedy Musical will be playing two shows only at Stage 72 at the Triad, tonight, November 17th and the 24th - 158 West 72nd Street New York, NY 10023. For tickets and information visit the Stage 72 website, or call 1-800-838-3006.
