BrickaBrack is preparing to present ON THE FLIP SIDE, a show inspired by a historic form of communication: the postcard.

ON THE FLIP SIDE contains a variety of short pieces inspired by postcards received by BrickaBrack ensemble members - revealing funny, personal and touching anecdotes. These shorts are performed in random order as decided nightly by the audience, and contain a range of styles including movement, music, dance, scenes, and interactive elements.

ON THE FLIP SIDE is a celebration of humanity, examining memorable life moments through stories about travel, dreams, friendship, family, and our desire for concrete experiences in an increasingly virtual world.

BrickaBrack's Artistic Director, Gabriel Grilli, says, "This is our first fully produced show in New York. We're super excited to bring this project to HERE. We did a workshop of it this past winter and had a tremendous audience response, so we're taking the piece to the next level. I think ON THE FLIP SIDE touches on a lot of things that bring us together as human beings - which is also why we make theatre! - like, why we connect with others, what we dream of or aspire to, what we remember as being significant; you know, the things you think about when you take a step back from the daily grind. So it's an escape, but also a celebration!"

Featuring: Kiebpoli Calnek, Nicole Cardoni, Jamil Chokachi, Gabrielle Grilli, DeLance Minefee, Amy Nielson, Clinton Powell, and Rachel Ritacco.

This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: Co-op, HERE's curated summer rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support.

Performances play HERE Arts Center, 145 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10013 (enter on Dominick St. one block south of Spring St.), September 14 - 17, 2016, running Wednesday - Friday @ 7pm & Saturday @ 2pm.
