The creators of the 2009 NYMF hit Fat Camp are back with Perez Hilton Saves The Universe (Or At Least The Greater Los Angeles Area): The Musical when it returns for one performance, Sunday 30th at 9:30pm at Joe's Pub.

A hit at the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, the tuner received both the Fringe Outstanding Musical Award and The Talkin' Broadway Citation for best musical. "Perez" features a book by Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker (Fat Camp) with lyrics by Blair and a score by Zachary Redler.

Matt Doyle (Bye Bye Birdie, Spring Awakening) and Chad Carstarphen (Street Lights) will join the original 2008 Fringe cast, including Randy Blair (The Adding Machine, Fat Camp), Timothy Michael Drucker (The Other Baldwins), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Give It Up!, Legally Blonde), Sevan Greene (Berayed), Laura Jordan (Cry Baby), Ana Nogiuera (Bario Grrrl!), Dana Steingold (Cavlin Berger, Anyone Can Whistle). The show is directed and choreographed by Connor Gallagher (Fat Camp, The Battery's Down.)

Perez Hilton Saves the Universe explores a normal day in the life of celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Well, were it not for the plans of evil Islamic terrorists and Kathy Griffin. Throughout the course of the day, Perez must wrestle with the demons of love, ego and celebrity, all whilst saving Los Angeles from an imminent nuclear disaster. For it's original run, The New York Post called it "raucous, satirical fun" and nytheatre.com claimed it as "A true delight, this musical: hilarious, wicked-smart, well-done, energetic, fresh, irreverent, arresting."

The creative team also includes David Withrow (costumes), Matt Steinbrenner (set and projection design), Brian Tovar (lighting design), Adam Wachter (musical direction and arrangements), Brian Lowdermilk (additonal arrangements), Enrique Brown (assistant director/choreographer), and Jamie Rog (stage manager). The evening is produced by Jason Knight.

Show time is May 30 at 9:30pm.

Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street between East 4th and Astor Place. Tickets, priced at $20, can be purchased by calling 212-967-7555 or by visiting joespub.com. The show can be found on Twitter @PerezMusical.
