On the heels of the highly successful preview of the new musical THE GOOD GIRL in October, MUSICAL MONDAYS THEATRE LAB Artistic Directors Bick Goss and Frank Evans and Board President Stephen Hanks are pleased to announce another exciting musical preview for its fall/winter 2010-11 season. On January 20th at 6:30PM a sneak preview of the new musical AND THEN I WROTE A SONG ABOUT IT, will be presented at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street. Set to the rhythm of the disco era and beyond, this earnest yet uproarious musical breaks new ground with its tour-de-force cast of one, Nick Cearley. . . . AND THEN I WROTE A SONG ABOUT IT follows the adventures of an aspiring actor-singer-songwriter-dancer-secretary as he searches for love and fame in the early 1980s. Cearley appeared in the Broadway and National Companies of All Shook Up. The new musical just finished a lauded and successful run at the Luna Stage West Orange, New Jersey and will open shortly at The Diversion Theatre in San Diego.
. . AND THEN I WROTE A SONG ABOUT IT features a clever and amusing book by Eric H. Weinberger, terrific lyrics by Sammy Buck, and an upbeat score by Daniel S. Acquisto . Acquisto and Buck are the songwriting team behind LIKE YOU LIKE IT, which won the 2009 Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Production of a Musical. AND THEN I WROTE A SONG ABOUT IT is directed by Igor Goldin (With Glee, YANK!), with musical direction by Christian Imboden and musical staging by Antoinette DiPietropolo (With Glee). Weinberger was Drama Desk nominated for his book for Wanda's World.

MMTL's first Spring musical preview ATTACHMENT, concerns a married couple's struggle with a growing adopted child; Music and lyrics by Carl Danielsen and book by Loej Daschler on Thursday, March 24th.
Under the guidance of Artistic Directors Bick Goss and Frank Evans, and new Board President Stephen Hanks, Musical Mondays Theatre Lab is celebrating its 11th anniversary presenting a first look at new musicals. Previous shows include Pulitzer and Tony® winner next to normal under the title of Feeling Electric, and the Broadway bound Wanda's World. Previous seasons introduced Off-Broadway's See Rock City, Cupid and Psyche, Abie's Island Rose, regional productions of Calvin Berger as well as new work by Amanda Green, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx.
