The Harlem Repertory Theatre is reviving the 1978 TONY award winning musical "Ain't Misbehavin'", for a very limited engagement now through March 25th at the Tato Laviera Theatre at Harlem Prep Elementary School, 240 East 123rd Street (at 3rd Ave.), Manhattan.

A swinging, rip-roaring musical tribute to the black musicians of the Harlem Renaissance, "Ain't Misbehavin'" opened on Broadway in 1978 as a musical revue of Jazz Legend Fats Waller's popular songbook, and it ended up winning a number of awards including the TONY for Best Musical. The Harlem Repertory Theatre's production of "Ain't Misbehavin'", which sold out its 2008 run and won the AUDELCO 2008 Musical Production of the Year Award, is now returning to the Harlem Rep's stage for its' 2016-17 season in a new intimate cabaret style that will bring the audience closer to the performers. This brilliant showcase of Fats Waller's magnificent songbook will have audiences dancing in the aisles as the HRT's finest company members sing the toe-tapping, hand-clapping songs: T'Ain't Nobody's Business, This Joint is Jumpin', Honeysuckle Rose, the title song, Ain't Misbehavin', and many more! The Harlem Repertory Theatre is proud to be bringing this production back to Harlem; to the neighborhoods Fats Waller knew growing up that inspired him!

"Ain't Misbehavin'" is directed and choreographed by Keith Lee Grant, The HRT's Founding Artistic Director who was the recipient of the 2009 and 2012 AUDELCO Awards for the Best Choreographer of a Musical and the Best Choreographer of a Musical. His production of "In The Heights" is currently nominated for the AUDELCO's 2016 Best Revival of a Musical Award. In addition to his work with the HRT, Mr. Grant performed in the Broadway/National productions, "Ragtime", "Show Boat" and "Marie Christine" and Off-Broadway and in regional theatre.

"Ain't Misbehavin'" is the latest addition to the HRT's sold out 2016-17 season which includes, "In The Heights", "A Raisin In The Sun", "The Wizard Of Oz", and the soon to open contemporary adaption of the classic holiday tale by Charles Dickens, "A Harlem Christmas Carol".
