Originally meant to be a one-night performance of the hit Off-Broadway musical revue, Starting Here, Starting Now, with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, The York Theatre Company will conclude the second of two encore performances this evening, December 16th at 7:30 p.m. at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

With direction by Mr. Maltby, and music direction by Kevin Stites, the special performances reunite original cast members Loni Ackerman (Cats, Evita), Margery Cohen (Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill) and George Lee Andrews (Evita, The Phantom of the Opera).

The excitement of young love and the confusion of growing up (or is it the other way around?) are explored in Starting Here, Starting Now, an intimate revue from Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire. Using songs from their various early musicals (produced or otherwise), from tender ballads to hysterical husband-hunting laments, from wry comments on trendy marriages to ecstatic shouting-from- the-rooftop celebration, Starting Here, Starting Now, a bold journey through the maze of relationships, debuted in 1976 at Manhattan Theater Club before transferring to Barbarann Theater Restaurant followed by a Grammy nomination for the original cast album.

Tickets are priced at $74.50 and are available online at www.yorktheatre.org, by calling (212) 935-5820, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue), Monday through Friday (12:00 -6:00 p.m.).
