Works by Anna Ziegler & Mfoniso Udofia Set for Playwrights Realm's 2015-16 Season

The Playwrights Realm has announced two productions as part of the 2015-2016 season. The first production will be the New York premiere of A Delicate Ship by Alumni Playwright Anna Ziegler, running August 18 - September 12, 2015 at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater. The Page One Production will be the world premiere of Sojourners by incoming Page One Playwright Mfoniso Udofia, running January - February 2016. In an effort to further support and advance the careers of its playwrights, the Alumni Production allows The Realm to produce new work by its growing contingent of previously produced playwrights. The two productions were announced at the theatre company's eighth annual "Writers Block Party" on Monday, April 20, 2015.

In addition to the announcement, Artistic Director Katherine Kovner took time at the Writers Block Party to remark on the success of the season, particularly celebrating that this year marked the first time the young company featured two productions-the inaugural Alumni Production, CITY OF, written by Anton Dudley, as well as Elizabeth Irwin's very first play, My Mañana Comes, which played to significant acclaim and, most recently, received a Lucille Lortel Nomination for Best Production and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for the John Gassner Playwriting Award. About the upcoming year, Kovner said, "We couldn't be prouder that our next season features these two women of such extraordinary talent. They have written plays filled with guts, emotion, poetry, and ineffable beauty. They are both works that we have developed and nurtured, and we are overjoyed to share them with our audience."
