Playwrights Horizons has announced casting for INDIAN SUMMER, the world premiere of a new play by Gregory S. Moss (Reunion, punkplay, Billy Witch, La Brea, Orange Hat Grace, House of Gold), directed by Carolyn Cantor (Fly by Night, The Great God Pan, After the Revolution, Essential Self-Defense at PH; Pumpgirl; Orange Flower Water; Stone Cold Dead Serious). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play is the sixth and final production of the theater company's acclaimed 2015/2016 Season.

The cast will feature Owen Campbell (Recall, "The Americans," "Boardwalk Empire"), Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Jonathan Hadary (Assassins, Gemini, Coming Attractions at PH; Gypsy; Golden Boy; Spamalot; Awake and Sing; As Is), Elise Kibler (The Heidi Chronicles, This Is Our Youth, "Daredevil," "The Affair") and Joe Tippett (the current Familiar at PH, Airline Highway, Waitress).

INDIAN SUMMER will begin previews Friday, May 13 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Wednesday, June 8 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday evening, June 26 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Abandoned by his wayward mom, Daniel (Mr. Campbell) is consigned to spend summer with granddad (Mr. Hadary) in a Rhode Island beach town, where the locals don't look kindly on city kids. But his hapless vacation turns around when he meets Izzy (Ms. Kibler): tough-acting, back-sassing, beguiling and taken. Gregory S. Moss's feisty romantic comedy follows a passing fling that could last a lifetime - as impossible and charmed as an indian summer.

The production will feature scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Eric Southern and sound design by Stowe Nelson. Production Stage Manager is Kyle Gates.

INDIAN SUMMER is the final production in what has been an especially celebrated season thus far at Playwrights Horizons. The first four productions were all met by rave reviews and received multiple-week extensions due to critical acclaim and public demand: The Christians by Lucas Hnath, Hir by Taylor Mac, Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison and the current Familiar by Danai Gurira. Opening prior to INDIAN SUMMER and currently in previews is the world premiere of Antlia Pneumatica, a new play by Anne Washburn, who is returning to the theater company for the first time since her smash hit Mr. Burns.

INDIAN SUMMER was commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and is the result of a Playwrights Horizons / Kate and Seymour Weingarten commission.

The performance schedule for INDIAN SUMMER will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7PM, Thursdays and Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2:30 PM & 8PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM. There's a special Monday evening performance on June 6 at 7PM. The Wednesday, May 25 performance has an 8PM curtain and the Thursday evening, May 26 performance has an early 7PM curtain for a special 30&Under Night. Beginning the week of April 11, single tickets, $75-95, may be purchased online via www.TicketCentral.com and www.Facebook.com, by phone at (212) 279-4200 (Noon-8pm daily) and in person at the Ticket Central Box Office, 416 West 42nd Street (between Ninth & Tenth Avenues).
