Roundabout Theatre Company's off-Broadway production of The Overwhelming opens tomorrow, Tuesday, October 23 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).

This production marks the American premiere of The Overwhelming, written by J.T. Rogers, directed by Max Stafford-Clark, featuring Chris Chalk, Ron Cephas Jones, Tisola Logan, Boris McGiver, Owiso Odera, Charles Parnell, Linda Powell, James Rebhorn, Sam Robards, Michael Stahl-David and Sharon Washington.

The Overwhelming is playing a limited engagement through December 23, 2007.

The design team includes Tim Shortall (Sets), Tobin Ost (Costumes), David Weiner (Lighting) and Gareth Fry (Sound).

"The Overwhelming is the gripping story of an American family, newly arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, in early 1994, who come face-to-face with the realization that nothing and no one around them is what they understood it to be. Finding themselves embroiled in events beyond their understanding, three Americans struggle to discover who they can trust and what they will do when faced with matters of life and death," explain press notes.

Tickets are available by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at (212)719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org or at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre box office (111 West 46th Street).   Ticket prices range from $56.25-$66.25.

The Overwhelming plays Tuesday through Saturday evening at 7:30PM with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2PM.
