Actress Scarlett Alice Johnson steps into the lead role in Philip Ridley's show-stopping satirical comedy RADIANT VERMIN. Actress Gemma Whelan regretfully withdrew from the production owing to a family illness.

Johnson will now appear alongside original male lead Sean Michael Verey as the couple offered a mysterious dream home. Johnson and Verey, who are also in a real-life relationship, are best known as leads in hit BBC Three sitcom "Pramface" (airing in the US on HULU), in which they played on-screen sweethearts for three years. Johnson's other credits include Paines Plough's The Angry Brigade and two years as regular Vicky Fowler on "EastEnders." Verey most recently won a Stage acting award for Ridley's Tonight with Donny Stixx.

Playful, provocative and viciously sharp, RADIANT VERMIN is written by Time Out, Evening Standard, Critics' Circle and Fringe First Award-winner Philip Ridley. Debra Baker (BBC Radio Drama Company, Ridley's Vincent River) rounds out the cast. The show is directed by Evening Standard Award-nominee David Mercatali and designed by William Reynolds. The NYC run is produced by Supporting Wall, Metal Rabbit Productions, and Soho Theatre.

Following its nationally acclaimed sell-out 2015 premiere, RADIANT VERMIN tours Bristol and London in the UK before arriving at 59E59 Theaters for its US premiere as part of Brits Off Broadway. RADIANT VERMIN runs from June 2 - July 3; opening night is TBD. Tickets are $35 ($24.50 for 59E59 Members) and are available by calling Ticket Central at 212-279-4200 or online at www.59e59.org.
