SISTER FANTASTIC PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce the New York premiere production of Jessica Manuel?s THE ANTARCTIC CHRONICLES, directed by Paul Linke. THE ANTARCTIC CHRONICLES will be performed as part of The New York International Fringe Festival at Venue # 19 The Players Loft (115 MacDougal St, 3rd Fl) .

Striving for individuality and freedom, Jessica Manuel found herself at the bottom of the Earth--living and working in Antarctica as a fuels operator. THE ANTARCTIC CHRONICLES explores her biographical journey through multiple characters: her parents, friends, roommates, and bosses. A story of love, courage, absurdity and madness, Jessica shares what happens living in an isolated community void of sun for months. Loss of memory and black urine are just a taste of the experiences she endured while trying to create a life worth examination.

The production features scenic design by Mike Gaglio, sound and lighting design by Louis Sciarrotta.

JESSICA MANUEL (Playwright/Performer) after leaving the ?Ice? Jessica graduated from Australia?s prestigious National Academy of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Following school she starred in the Australian premier of Breathing Corpses by Laura Wade and Actors Anonymous by Claire Fitzgerald. She co-created the play Woman from the Desert for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the 2006 ?Short and Sweet? play festival in Sydney. The Antarctic Chronicles was runner up in the 2009 Los Angeles? Actors Group Theater solo performance competition. Her most recent films include; Hazelnut (dir. Jim Hanks), Ricky (dir. Kevin Wagaoner), Child Invisible (dir. Bethe Gordon), Hummingbird (dir. Melody Encheff), and Lessons in Humility (dir. Tomas Zinzli). Her latest television credits include CSI: Miami (CBS), ?Pilot? Flip TV (NBC) and ?Pilot? Mongoose and Luther (Disney.) Jessica Loves comedy and has sharpened her chops by performing stand-up at the Hollywood Improv, sketch comedy at UCB and with an inprov troupe WAITERS IN TRAINING. She is also the lead singer of the novelty band TRASH TORNADO and currently writing and filming the comedy web-series Sexy Ghost Mom.

Paul Linke (Director) co-founded the Garden Theatre Festival (LADCC Award) and was a member of The company Theatre. He was the founder and original artistic director of the Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica where he created his internationally acclaimed Time Flies When You?re Alive, which was later filmed as an HBO Showcase special and nominated for a Cable Ace Award. Mr. Linke continued his autobiographical solo work with Life After Time, which premiered at the Pasadena Playhouse completing his TIME TRILOGY with Father Time, at the Pacific Resident Theatre.

Mr. Linke was co-author and director of Save It For the Stage?The Life of Reilly starring comic legend Charles Nelson Reilly. He was honored to direct Nobody Don?t Like Yogi starring Ben Gazzara, Off-Broadway at the Lamb?s Theatre. Mr. Linke has developed and staged many solo plays including Fired Up, ...and Baby Makes Two, The Back Road Home, The Four Man Plan (The science of romance,) Caterpillar Soup, Capture Now (currently playing in NYC,) The Law of Return (w/ Shelly Berman), Diabetes My Struggles With Jim Turner, It Ain?t Nothin Nice, Wilde and Wonderful (Two Ovation Nominations), ...But First, Sammy Shore (w/ veteran comic Sammy Shore) for which he won the ADA for best direction of an original play in 2002. Mr. Linke most recently co-wrote and staged My Sinatra at the Algonquin Theatre in Manhattan.

A published author, Mr. Linke lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Christine Healy, and their four children Jasper, Ryan, Rose, Lily and dog Suds.
