In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, breast cancer survivor and Tony® Award Winning Producer of Avenue Q Robyn Goodman, along with the women of the cast and crew of Avenue Q, want you to know to NEVER miss your annual breast exam. Check out the video!

The Tony Award winning Best MusicalAvenue Q - led by the women of the Q company, including producer Robyn Goodman- are demonstrating their support of Breast Cancer Awareness month with a special $50 ticket toAvenue Q throughout October at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) in New York, concluding with a very special performance on Friday, October 30 at 8 p.m.

Five dollars from each ticket sold to Avenue Q with the discount code AQAWARE50 in October will be donated to the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. (See below for details.)

Ms. Goodman says key to the Q women's message is the mantra -- NEVER miss an annual mammogram and risk what might happen when you do. A producer of Avenue Q along with RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO and IN THE HEIGHTS, Robyn Goodman has herself been undergoing breast cancer treatment since the start of 2015.

The women of the Avenue Q company joining the effort are: Kate Monster, Kerri Brackin, Lucy The Slut, Danielle K. Thomas, Elizabeth Ann Berg, Bad Idea Bear, Christine M. Daly, Imari Hardon, Grace Choi and the legendary school marm Mrs. Thistletwat.

Ms. Slut states that another important part of the Q women's message is to encourage women to "Know thy breasts," adding, "we all know my 'girls' have been fondled by an army of suitors through the years, but the personal touch I prefer most is the self-exam I practice at least once a month, remembering the importance of keeping aware of my own health."

Now in its 12th year on New York stages and in companies worldwide, Avenue Q is the unforgettable, ground-breaking musical about people and puppets who live as neighbors on a rundown street in an outer borough of New York City. There together they learns important life lessons such as finding a job, losing a job, finding love, losing love, dating, the internet is for porn and generosity -- when you help others, you can't help helping yourself.

With music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, a book by Jeff Whitty, directed by Jason Moore, with puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon, Avenue Q is produced by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller,Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.

Code AQAWARE50 can be used at the New World Stages Box Office, by calling the Telecharge Ticketing line at212-239-6280; or by going online to www.TelechargeOffers.com, and entering the code. Again, this is a $50 ticket, good for any seat in the theatre, and is valid for ANY performance between now and Friday, 30 October.
