The hit off-Broadway musical SESSIONS celebrates it's 200th performance at the Algonquin Theater (123 East 24th Street) on July 31st. Directed by Thomas Coté with book, music and lyrics by Albert M. Tapper (From Where I Stand, Broadway: The Golden Age), SESSIONS catches a glimpse at the everyday life of a New York therapist and his patients. Tony Sportiello/Algonquin Theatre Productions and Jason Hewitt are the producers.

SESSIONS was first seen in a developmental production at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater in the summer of 1997 and began its run at The Algonquin Theater on October 28, 2008. Bloomberg Radio cheers "I loved this show! I didn't want it to end," and Soap Opera Digest applauds "If you like musicals, see this show - it's charming, heartwarming and brilliant!"

In SESSIONS, a New York therapist is challenged to balance his patients' needs with his own- all while fending off advances from one very enticing female subject. His experiences remind us that even those we look to for guidance can be as vulnerable as we are.

SESSIONS stars Robert Newman (two time Emmy Award nominee for Guiding Light) as Dr. Peter Peterson. The cast also includes Bertilla Baker (Titanic, Bernarda Alba), Al Bundonis (Whistle Down The Wind, Ragtime), Scott Richard Foster (Brooklyn the Musical), Drama Desk and Theatre World award winner Ken Jennings (Sweeney Todd, Urinetown), Tony nominee Liz Larsen (The Most Happy Fella, The Rocky Horror Show), Kelli Maguire (Swingtime Canteen, A Wonderful Life) Rachelle Rak (Fosse, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Sky Seals (Much Ado About Nothing, Medea).

The creative team includes Steven Gross (Musical Arrangements, Orchestrations, Supervision), John McDermott (Scenic Design), Penny Ayn Maas (Choreography), Michele Pasqua (Costume Design), Brant Thomas Murray (Lighting Design), Josh Liebert (Sound Design), and James Horvath (Additional Choreography).

SESSIONS playsWednesday-Saturday at 8pm as well at playing 3pm matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Due to the "Guiding Light" shooting schedule, the role of Dr. Peterson will be played by Dennis Holland on Wednesday matinees. All seats are $50 and are available by visiting www.smarttix.com or by calling 212-868-4444. Senior and student discount tickets are available for $20.
