Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the winners of The Glass Menagerie student contest!

New York City students were invited to submit videos of their class interpreting a scene from Tennessee Williams famous play.

First prize has gone to students from the Manhattan Theatre Lab High School. They will receive a special workshop with a Roundabout education artist, tickets to see the show, autographed posters from the cast and a subscription to Roundabout Theatre Company for their teacher. Roundabout was a founding partner at Manhattan Theatre Lab High School.

Second prize has gone to students from the Manhattan East School for the Arts & Academics. They will receive autographed posters from the cast.

The video submissions from both schools can be seen at www.myroundaboutblog.com.

The Glass Menagerie is currently playing at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). The cast features Patch Darragh (Tom Wingfield), two-time Tony® Award winner Judith Ivey (Amanda Wingfield), Keira Keeley (Laura Wingfield) and Michael Mosley (Jim O'Connor). The limited engagement has been extended through June 13, 2010.

In this fresh interpretation of Williams' haunting memory play, Tom Wingfield (Darragh) sits writing in a hotel room, trying to forge his past into art. Soon Tom's space is overtaken by the cramped apartment he once shared with his mother Amanda (Ivey), his beloved sister Laura (Keeley) and unrequited dreams as fragile as Laura's collection of tiny glass animals. There, Tom relives the Gentleman Caller's (Mosley) visit - the night that changed his family forever.

Generous support for The Glass Menagerie provided by the Laura Pels Foundation.
