Lord Buckley and Marilyn Monroe are brought ot vivid life in an evening of two separate works performed by Richmond Shepard and LESLIE E. HUGHES entitled LORD BUCKLEY& MARILYN. The Production plays Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 PM, November 4th through November 28th. Tickets are $18; $10 for students and seniors. For reservations, please call (212) 684-2690. In in the 25 minute curtain raiser LORD BUCKLEY, Richmond Shepard who worked with Buckley at The Club Renaissance in Los Angeles in 1950's and knew him during his final two years protrays the Legendary Hip Comedian, Jazz Storyteller, Semanticist, & Sometime Philosopher. LORD BUCKLEY includes material Buckley made famous in his night club acts and on his many appearences on the Ed Sullivan Show.

In the 60 minute second act, Leslie E. Hughes portrays Marilyn Monroe in WILLARD MANUS's play MARILYN'S 2ND CHANCE wich explores the question, "What if Marilyn had survived, lived for years in obscurity, and has decided to audition to play the lead in Tennessee Williams' "Orpheus Descending" on Broadway? It has received critical praise at previous engagments including, "An unforgettable theatrical experience." Entertainment Today, and "The play is a must-see." Drama-Logue.

Buckley who died at 54 in 1960 and Monroe wich died at 36 in 1962 actually appeared together in the movie "We're Not Married" starring Ginger Rogers and Fred Allen.

MARILYN'S 2ND CHANCE playwright WILLARD MANUS' other plays include THE GAMES MEN PLAY was produced two years ago at the Richmond Shepard Theatre. Among his other plays are BLUES FOR CENTRAL AVENUE, THE LAST LAUGH (about Fatty Arbuckle), and JUNK FOOD and THE LOVE BOUTIQUE, two one-acts which have found success in the USA and Europe. He has also published ten books, including Mott the Hoople (the novel from which the 70s rock band took its name) and This Way to Paradise - Dancing on the Tables, a memoir of the many years he spent in the Greek islands.

LESLIE E. HUGHES has been playing Marilyn Monroe since age 9, when she discovered her icon starring in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." As Marilyn, Leslie has performed all over the country on stage & in film. The creator & host of "The Barking Beauty Pageant," Leslie's recent stage credits include the role of Cookie in the 13 year running MURDERED BY THE MOB and she starred opposite Barry Williams in the Off-Broadway musical, GROWING UP 70's, & on television she hosted "Ambush Makeover" and "Helping Hands".

Richmond Shepard: actor, writer, director, producer, Mime, has been active in Theatre and Film for over 50 years. He performed in over 100 television shows and in many films, and produced over forty plays, directing or starring in many of them. He directed and performed with improvisational comedy troupes-The L.A.Cabaret- 1967-77 and Noo Yawk Tawk- 1988-91 and 2003-2005. He has directed 30 short films and two features, the last "Gurneyman" co-starring David Arquette. He produces, directs and/or performs at the off-Broadway Richmond Shepard Theatre on 26th & 2nd in NYC-- recently: directed Sartre's NO EXIT and directed and costarred in Ronald Ribman's COLD STORAGE. June '09 he produced and directed the New York premiere of THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR'S WIFE and in July & August starred in STANDP MIME. .
