Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by Tom Ridgely, on Monday May 2nd at 7:30pm, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson). Featured in the cast will be Arian Moayed (Tony Award nomination, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) along with Mohammad Aghebati, Amir Arison, Brendan Averett, Cary Donaldson, Abraham Makany, Seth Numrich, Debargo Sanyal, Babak Tafti, Faran Tahir, Sheila Vand, Bernard White, and more. Tickets may be purchased online at www.redbulltheater.com or by phone at (212) 352-3101.

This provocative dual-language adaptation of Hamlet, featuring Tony Award-nominated actor Arian Moayed, is set in Persia circa 1916, on the eve of the first World War and the arrival of the British. Prince Hamlet returns home to find his father murdered and his mother remarrying the murderer, his uncle. Meanwhile, war is brewing. With passages spoken in Farsi, this version of Shakespeare's most celebrated tragedy explores the resonance between Hamlet's central dilemma and the pressures of embracing or resisting Western influences - cultural, political and spiritual - both then and now. It is a searingly relevant and vibrantly fresh take on one of the most influential dramas in English literature.

The final Revelation Reading will be William Congreve's The Way of the World on Monday June 27, followed by the sixth annual Short New Play Festival, with casts that include Steven Boyer (Hand to God), Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher, Reckless, Noises Off), Chukwudi Iwuji (Henry VI Trilogy - Royal Shakespeare Company, Tamburlaine, King Lear); Patrick Page (The Duchess of Malfi - Red Bull Theater, Spring Awakening), and Jay O. Sanders (Titus Andronicus, "Person of Interest"), among others.

Richard Brinsley Sheridan's The School For Scandal, directed by Marc Vietor, is now in performance at the Lortel Theater through May 8th only. In this comic masterpiece, Sheridan mercilessly dissects a social network of grotesques, gossips, lustful hypocrites and anonymous assassins of reputation who live in a world without privacy, morality or taste. After seventeen years abroad Oliver Surface returns home incognito to test the true characters of his nephews, Charles (a prodigal, apparently), and Joseph (a paragon, supposedly). Meanwhile he discovers his old friend Peter Teazle has wed a young country wife and is in marital purgatory, being victimized in print and society by a spiteful team of imbeciles and rumor-mongers - Fun for the whole family.
