The Red Bull Theater presents an "In the Raw" workshop of THE AENEID, by Oliver Kemeid, a powerful new play inspired by Virgil that transports Aeneas’s search for a homeland into the modern world of middle-eastern revolution. THE AENEID will play at the Theater at St. Clements for three performances on Feb. 11 and 12.

Featuring music by Duncan Sheik (SPRING AWAKENING) and directed by Kay Matschullat, THE AENEID stars Trazana Beverley, Maha Chehlaoui, Ramsey Faragallah, Bhavesh Patel, Heather Raffo, and more round out the cast.

Virgil's original Latin piece, The Aeneid, presents the legendary story of Aenaes, a Trojan soldier who travels and relocates to Italy where he becomes the eventual ancestor of the Romans.

"In The Raw" is a workshop program which develops new plays of heightened language and classic themes or new takes on classics through rehearsals and public performances. In The Raw provides a unique service, offering time and space for experimentation with classical work, heightened language, and epic theatricality, giving theater artists a laboratory to develop new productions in a safe creative environment.
