Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director; Lonnie Cooper, Managing Director) cordially invites you to their production of Thomas Middleton's Women Beware Women, adapted and directed by Jesse Berger, for a limited Off Broadway engagement December 9th through January 5th, at Theater at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Thomas Middleton's rarely performed masterwork of Jacobean juiciness, Women Beware Women - a hilarious social satire of sexual politics with a spectacular tragicomic dénouement - continues Red Bull Theater's exploration of the seldom-seen classics of Shakespeare and his contemporaries through imaginative and accessible productions. This provocative play portrays a ruling class unable to divorce power from lust as three young people are seduced by the lies and treachery of the sophisticated players in the glamorous court of the Duke of Florence. Building on their successful productions of Pericles, The Revenger's Tragedy, and Edward the Second, while simultaneously striking out in an imaginative new direction, Red Bull Theater's production of Women Beware Women speaks with a shockingly contemporary voice about sexual politics and women's rights, even as it is a playful parody of serious sexual games. Red Bull Theater's production of Women Beware Women is the first Off-Broadway revival of Middleton's uproarious masterpiece in over 20 years.

Jesse Berger directs a company that includes Geraint Wyn Davies (King Lear opposite Christopher Plummer, "24", "Slings & Arrows"), Al Espinosa, Jacob Fishel (Fiddler on the Roof revival), Jonathan Fried, Jennifer Ikeda (Top Girls), Roberta Maxwell (Equus original cast, Brokeback Mountain), Kathryn Meisle (Tartuffe, Tony Award nomination), Alex Morf, Everett Quinton (Ridiculous Theatrical Co., Irma Vep), Liv Rooth, John Douglas Thompson (Shakespeare & Co Othello) and an ensemble of eight actors and musicians, including and introducing counter-tenor Shannon Wicks. Women Beware Women features live music by composer Scott Killian and will have set design by David Barber, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Peter West, aerial effects by Paul Rubin, masks by Emily DeCola, fight direction by Rick Sordelet, and choreography by Tracy Bersley.

Recently acclaimed by Time Out New York as "the most exciting classical theater in New York," Red Bull Theater is the not-profit Off-Broadway theater company specializing in plays of heightened language, with a unique focus on the Jacobean plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries. Red Bull Theater embraces the imagination of theatergoers through intimate, evocative productions of great classic stories. In addition to full productions, Red Bull Theater has produced over 30 readings through its ongoing OBIE Award-winning Revelation Readings, produces an annual new play workshop called In-The-Raw, and also reaches out annually through its Direct Address education program to bring Shakespeare to Middle School students in the Bronx. The New York Times called Red Bull Theater's productions of Pericles "The Stuff of Dreams," The Revenger's Tragedy "Dynamite," and Edward the Second "fired with excitement." All three productions were extended to sold-out Off-Broadway runs.
