The Show Goes On Productions (TSGO) has announced seven special guests for the latest theatrical concert in the ROCK TONIC Series, HERE IN THE DARK, written and performed by Ashkon Davaran, developed and directed by Shakina Nayfack.

Joining ASHKON onstage will be Rebecca Naomi Jones (AMERICAN IDIOT, PASSING STRANGE, MURDER BALLAD), Leslie McDonel (AMERICAN IDIOT, HAIRSPRAY), Shaina Taub (NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812), Natalie Wachen (RENT Off Broadway, BOARDWALK EMPIRE), Lauren Marcus (PREGNANCY PACKED), RACHEL LEE (Joe Iconis AND FAMILY), and VINNY PAVLISH on violin. There will be opening performances by Shaina Taub and Lauren Marcus.

HERE IN THE DARK will take place at The Cutting Room, 44 E. 32nd Street at Park Ave. on September 30th, 2013. Doors and kitchen open at 9:30. Tickets are $15 and available at www.ShowGoesOnProductions.com, 646-380-8749. There are no food or drink minimums at this show.

In HERE IN THE DARK, Bay Area actor/singer-songwriter/MC, ASHKON recounts tales of love, loss, and YouTube fame through a unique backdrop of rock n' roll, hip-hop, soul, and the spoken word.

Ashkon Davaran (@ashkonmusic) is an actor and musician from the San Francisco/Bay Area. He can currently be seen as Balaga in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet Of 1812. Past credits include the title roll in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (San Francisco Playhouse, SF Premiere), Max in the new rock opera, JUNK (Concert, Joe's Pub), Pinky in Steven Adly Guirgis's Our Lady of 121st Street (West Coast premiere, SF Playhouse, and Matrix Theater, Los Angeles), and the title roll in Beardo, composed by Dave Malloy (Shotgun Players). Ashkon also appeared as the title role of The Show Goes On Production's The Legend of Sunshine, the second theatrical concert in the ROCK TONIC series. As a rapper and singer-songwriter, Ashkon has released multiple albums and singles, including The Final Breakthrough and Here In The Dark (An Acoustic EP). Ashkon has also been widely recognized for his viral music videos, which have received over 5 million views to date.

Shakina Nayfack (@shakeenz) is a director, choreographer, producer, and performance artist. World premiers: The Poor Players by Dan LeFranc (Actors' Theater of Santa Cruz), Cosa Rara by Butchlalis de Panochtitlan (Highways Performance Space, Santa Monica), Bodies in Crisis (Edinburgh Festival Fringe), also Bashir Lazhar (American Premier, Barrington Stage Company). Currently in development: JUNK: A Rock Opera with the Swedish pop band Brainpool, Jahn Sood's new folk opera The Disappearing Man, and The Craft - the Musical with composer Kevin Michael Jones. Concerts include Pieces of JUNK andDisappearing Man at Joe's Pub, Freilich and Benson Split the Keys at NYMF, and three years of Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists you Probably Don't Know but Should, with 2-time Tony winner William Finn at Barrington Stage Company.

The ROCK TONIC series was launched to promote interactive and multimedia music events. Each concert integrates a story line or concept with theatrical elements and video designed to gently provoke audiences - no participation required. TSGO has become a pioneer for this new genre, showcasing the best new artists in this monthly series.
