59E59 Theaters will present ROTTERDAM, written by Jon Brittain and directed by Donnacadh O'Briain. Produced by Hartshorn - Hook Foundation Ltd, ROTTERDAM begins performances on Wednesday, May 17 for a limited engagement through Saturday, June 10. Press Opening is Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 PM.

It's New Year in Rotterdam, and Alice has finally plucked up the courage to email her parents and tell them she's gay. But before she can hit send, her girlfriend Fiona reveals that he has always identified as a man and now wants to start living as one named Adrian. As Adrian begins his transition, Alice must face a question she never thought she'd ask...does this mean she's straight?

This Olivier Award-nominated comedy sold out both London's Theatre503 and the Trafalgar Studios.

The cast features Ed Eales-White (Jack Thorne's "National Treasure" on Channel 4/Hulu), Anna Martine Freeman (The Nether at The Duke of York), Alice McCarthy (Bella West on "Doctors" on the BBC), and Ellie Morris (Peter Pan Goes Wrong at the Apollo Theatre and on the BBC).

The design team includes Ellan Parry (set design); Richard Williamson (lighting design); Keegan Curran (sound design). The production stage manager is Whitney Keeter.

The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 & 7:30 PM. Jon Brittain is a playwright, comedy writer, and director. His critically acclaimed play Rotterdam premiered at Theatre503 in 2015 before transferring to the West End, for which he received a nomination for the Charles Wintour Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright. His previous work includes the cult hit show Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho; its sequel Margaret Thatcher Queen of Game Shows; and the plays A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad), What Would Spock Do?, The Sexual Awakening of Peter Mayo, and The Wake. He directed both of John Kearns's Fosters Award-winning shows Sight Gags for Perverts and Shtick and Tom Allen's shows Both Worlds and Indeed. He is currently working on several new scripts for LAMDA, the BBC, and HBO, as well as the musical How to Stop Being Fat and Start Being Happy with composer Harry Blake.

Donnacadh O'Briain's (director) recent projects include Always Orange (Royal Shakespeare Company); Lesere (Jermyn Street Theatre); My World Has Exploded a Little Bit (Edinburgh & Vault Festival); The Poet, The Lover and the Lunatic (National Portrait Gallery); Blue Stockings (Tobacco Factory); Mercury Fur and From Both Hips (RADA). He created the unique cross art form pop-up theater PEEP, which featured at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012 and 2013 and Latitude. Favorite productions include Leo Butler's The Early Bird (Finborough - Independent on Sunday Critics Choice); Between Life and Nowhere (Theatre Delicatessen - Time Out Critics Choice); King Lear staring the late Gerard Murphy (Wexford Opera House & tour); and assisting Michael Boyd on the Histories Cycle (RSC). He is resident director for Mischief Theatre's West End productions of Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery. He directs and trains actors at LAMDA, RADA, and BOVTS.
