The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will present post-show discussions following select performances of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the fourth play of the 2008-2009 Public LAB season. The Public LAB Speaker Series, held every Tuesday following Public LAB shows, consists of engaging conversations with the artists and notable panelists.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is a fast-paced entertainment that takes a sharp, irreverent look at America's seventh president, Andrew Jackson. This satirical epic reveals questions about the country we live in and the leaders we choose. Tickets are $10 for all performances and include free admission to Tuesday evening post-show discussions.

The cast for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON features David Axelrod (The People Garden at the Play Group Theatre), James Barry (Sive at Irish Rep), Darren Goldstein (Mouth to Mouth at The New Group), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at Center Theatre Group), Jeff Hiller (The Awesome ‘80s Prom off-Broadway), Lisa Joyce (Red Light Winter at Barrow St. Theatre), Lucas Near-Verbrugghe (Macbeth at Shakespeare in the Park), Bryce Pinkham (Beyond Therapy at Williamstown), Maria Elena Ramirez (the film The Women), Kate Cullen Roberts (Party Come Here at Williamstown), Ben Steinfeld (Two Gentlemen of Verona at Fiasco Theater), Benjamin Walker (Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway), and Colleen Werthmann (Light Raise the Roof at NYTW).

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON features scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, and sound design by Bart Fasbender.

Following the Thursday, May 7 and Sunday, May 10 performances, audience members will be invited to stay and share their thoughts on the show with BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON dramaturg Anne Davison in special "Feedback Sessions" designed to aid the development of this work-in-progress.

After the 7 p.m. performance on Tuesday, May 12, the Speaker Series will present "Dramatizing the Past," a panel discussion including Michael Friedman and Alex Timbers (writers of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON), Rinne Groff (playwright) and other panelists, moderated by Associate Artistic Director Mandy Hackett.

Following the 7 p.m. performance on Tuesday, May 19, the Speaker Series will present "Comedy and Politics," a panel discussion featuring Public Theater 2008-2009 season playwrights Mike Daisey, Christopher Durang, and Alex Timbers, moderated by Artistic Director Oskar Eustis.

Public LAB is an annual series of new plays that lets New Yorkers see more of the work they love from The Public and LAByrinth Theater Company in stripped-down productions. Public LAB allows The Public Theater to support more artists, and gives audiences immediate access to new plays. The Public LAB season will conclude in June with a world premiere by The Public Theater's Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON began performances on Tuesday, May 5 and run through Sunday, May 24. The performance schedule is Tuesdays at 7; Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM; and Sundays at 2 PM and 7 PM.
