Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced two special ticketing initiatives for their New York premiere production of Mr. Burns, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY, a new play by Anne Washburn (The Internationalist), with music by Obie Award winner Michael Friedman (Saved, The Drunken City at PH; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, the current Love's Labours Lost) and directed by Obie Award winner Steve Cosson (Gone Missing, This Beautiful City, founding Artistic Director of The Civilians).

In addition to announcing details for the theater company's popular LIVEforFIVE lottery, the company has also announced the new season-long initiative FIRST ROW SUNDAYS. Both are under the auspices of Playwrights Horizons' Arts Access banner, which allows the institution to reach out to those who may not be able to afford the cost of a full-price theater ticket.

Playwrights Horizons will begin accepting entries today, August 14 starting at 12 Noon for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery, which makes available $5 tickets to the first performance of all its productions. The LIVEforFIVE lottery for Mr. Burns will be for tickets to the first preview on Friday evening, August 23 at 8PM at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

A ticketing initiative created in 2007 as part of Playwrights Horizons' Arts Access program, LIVEforFIVE makes a limited number of $5 tickets available for the first preview performance of each Playwrights Horizons production through a lottery via the company's website (www.PlaywrightsHorizons.org).
