This season's line-up includes a revival of Howard Barker's Scenes From An Execution, starring five-time Tony Award nominee and two-time Drama Desk Award winner Jan Maxwell in her 6th collaboration with PTP, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Richard Romagnoli, and a double bill featuring the New York Premiere of Howard Barker's Judith: A Parting from the Body, directed by Richard Romagnoli, along with a revival of Caryl Churchill's Vinegar Tom, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone, with music by Carol Christensen. Previews begin on July 7 and openings begin on July 14.

Howard Barker's Scenes From An Execution begins previews July 7 for a July 15 opening and runs through August 9. The running time is 2 hours and 10 minutes including intermission.

Scenes From An Execution deals with the eternally fractious and complex relationship between the artist and the state. Galactia, a 15th century Venetian painter, is commissioned by the State of Venice to portray the Battle of Lepanto, a naval battle described as "the greatest triumph of Venetian history." However, her 1,000 square feet of canvas contains quite a different interpretation. Thus the battle over truth, freedom and responsibility is engaged.

The cast includes Jan Maxwell (Follies and The Royal Family on Broadway, The Castle with PTP), Bill Army (Act One and Relatively Speaking on Broadway, Gertrude - The Cry with PTP), David Barlow (Gertrude - The Cry, The Castle and Serious Money with PTP), Alex Draper (Gertrude - The Cry, Pentecost and Serious Money with PTP), Pamela J. Gray (Present Laughter and Butley on Broadway, Gertrude - The Cry with PTP), Adam Ludwig, Jonathan Tindle (Pentecost with PTP), Steven Dykes (The Castle and Serious Money with PTP), Kean Haunt, Nicholas Hemerling, Meghan Leathers (Gertrude - The Cry with PTP), Melissa MacDonald and Lana Meyer.

The production team includes Hallie Zieselman (Set Design), Mark Evancho (Lighting Design), Mira Veikley (Costume Design), Cormac Bluestone (Sound Design) and Eric Conner Marlin (Production Stage Manager).

Howard Barker's Judith: A Parting from the Body begins previews July 8 for a July 14 opening and runs through August 8. The running time is 1 hour.

The story of Judith is one of the great tales of female heroism and sexuality that has inspired artists in nearly every generation. In Barker''s telling, the fatal encounter between Judith and Holofernes becomes a complex duel of seduction and deception and a compelling study of intense desire and the sometimes terrifying nature of love.

The cast includes Patricia Buckley, Alex Draper and Pamela J. Gray.

The production team includes Hallie Zieselman (Set Design), Mark Evancho (Lighting Design), Mira Veikley (Costume Design), Cormac Bluestone (Sound Design) and Evangeline Rose Whitlock (Production Stage Manager).

Caryl Churchill's Vinegar Tom begins previews July 8 for a July 14 opening and runs through August 8. The running time is 1 hour and 25 minutes.

A haunting play with seriously subversive intent - misogyny, torture and songs. In a village in 17th century England three women are threatened with death for the practice of witchcraft. Vinegar Tom is a cabaret about hanging witches, with no witches.

The cast includes Tara Giordano (Serious Money and Lovesong of the Electric Bear with PTP), Bill Army, Kathleen Wise, Nesba Crenshaw (Serious Money with PTP), Steven Dykes, Lucy Faust (Scenes From An Execution with PTP), Patricia Buckley (Scenes From An Execution with PTP), Chelsea Melone (Pentecost with PTP), Caitlyn Meagher, Liana Barron, Caitlin Duffy and Joelle Mendoza-Etchart.

The production team includes Hallie Zieselman (Set Design), Mark Evancho (Lighting Design), Annie Ulrich (Costume Design), Aubrey Dube (Sound Design) and Evangeline Rose Whitlock (Production Stage Manager).

Performances are Tuesdays - Sundays at 7pm, and Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. The schedule varies - for exact days and times visit PTPNYC.org. Tickets are $35, $20 for students and seniors, $17.50 for previews, and can be purchased online or by calling 1-866-811-4111.
