Photo Coverage: York Theatre Company Presents 'In Transit'
In Transit, the third and final show in the New2NY series, which presents staged concerts of musicals in their NYC premieres, at the award winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) runs at the York Theatre August 8-10.
In Transit is a new a cappella musical by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russell M. Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth with additional material by Greg Christopher and Karla Momberger. From below the city streets springs this brand new musical, inspired by the rhythms and sounds of life on the subway. There's not an instrument in sight as a colorful array of young people find their way in NYC. Mixing reggae, pop, soul, beat box and more, In Transit is unlike anything you've ever seenor heardon stage before.
In Transit features Ryan Thomas Dunn (Camelot with New York Philharmonic) as Chris, Hannah Laird (Disney's Finding Nemo: The Musical) as Ali, beat-boxer Adam Matta (Bobby McFerrin at Carnegie Hall) as Boxman, Adam Overett (Light in the Piazza, B'way and Nat'l tour) as Trent, Ann Sanders (Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast) as Regina, Graham Stevens (Carmen with New York City Opera) as Nate and Denise Summerford (Taboo, The Rocky Horror Show) as Jane. W. Brent Sawyer (Seussical) is the musical director and the director is Joe Calarco (Sarah Plain and Tall, Artistic Associate at Signature Theater in VA).
