Patricia Clarkson Featured in Next Vineyard Voices Q&A 12/13

The Oscar-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson - whose many stage credits include the Nicky Silver plays RAISED IN CAPTIVITY and THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER at the Vineyard Theatre - will be the featured guest at a "Vineyard Voices" evening, "Patricia Clarkson In Conversation," at the theatre (108 E. 15 St.) on Monday, December 13 at 7 p.m., it has been announced by Douglas Aibel,
Artistic Director of the Vineyard Theatre.

The evening with Ms. Clarkson - moderated by journalist and critic David Rooney - is the latest in the "Vineyard Voices" series of behind-the-scenes evenings that feature leading Vineyard Theatre artists in a conversation and Q&A with the audience about their craft and careers.

Previous "Vineyard Voices" events have featured panels about the Vineyard's musical THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, discussions with playwrights Edward AlbeeWill Eno and Nicky Silver, as well as an evening devoted to the relationship between the New York theatre community and the television series "Law & Order"
featuring actors Sam Waterston, Linus Roache and Annie Parisse, as well as writer Gina Gionfriddo.

Patricia Clarkson is one of this country's foremost actresses in film, television, and on the stage. She won an Emmy Award for her appearance it the HBO series "Six Feet Under" and was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the film "Pieces of April." In 2003, she gained critical acclaim and a Special Jury Prize for her work in four films that debuted at the Sundance
Film Festival: "All the Real Girls," "The Baroness and the Pig," "The Station Agent" and "Pieces of April." Ms. Clarkson's stage credits include the aforementioned RAISED IN CAPTIVITY and THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER both at the Vineyard, THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES and EASTERN STANDARD both on Broadway, THE MADERATI (Playwrights Horizons), THREE DAYS OF RAIN (Manhattan Theatre Club), and as Blanche in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at The Kennedy Center.

David Rooney has been an arts and entertainment journalist since 1990, working in print, television and radio. He focused on film for many years in Rome and New York, before switching to his lifelong obsession of theater in 2004. From then until early 2010, he was chief theater critic and theater editor at Variety. Since leaving that position, he has been a freelance contributor of reviews and features to the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Rolling Stone, among other publications. He now reviews regularly for the New York Times and is a contributing editor covering Broadway and the major Off Broadway productions for the recently relaunched Hollywood Reporter. He served on the nominating jury of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2010.

The Vineyard's world-premiere of Will Eno's play MIDDLETOWN will conclude its acclaimed, extended engagement on Sunday, December 5.

Vineyard Theatre is under the guidance of Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director, and Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell, Executive Director.
