People Talk, by Lisa Ebersole and Sidse Sorensen, is the premiere production of TBG's Women's Development Group, F.A.B. Women, conceived by co-artistic director, Lee Brock, to support projects originated by female artists. Ms. Ebersole and Ms. Soerensen met at F.A.B. Women and joined forces to create a show that gives voIce To "the many characters we've encountered on the streets of New York City... and in our minds." People Talk is presented as a benefit for The Barrow Group, with all proceeds going to support programming of TBG and it's new F.A.B. Women.

The evening begins with Bailey, a tour guide who "...is filling in for the guy who usually does this...and then they found something else..." On the "Christmas Places Tour" that follows, audience members enter a wedding, a funeral, a writer's group, an AA meeting, a reality TV audition, a subway car, a surprise party and a graduation ceremony. Bailey's tour of Midtown Manhattan also includes such NYC gems as "some officially Land marked row houses on East 36th Street", "the carolers outside of Bellevue hospital", and a group sing-a-long of the New Years Song, which he hopes is a non-denominational choice. Audience participation is encouraged throughout the evening.

"People Talk is essentially nine stories book ended by this substitute tour guide, who leads the audience on the adventure of the night," says Ebersole. "All of the pieces are direct address, actual situations where one person would be speaking to many. We worked really hard to make sure that everything passed our bullshit test."

The cast for People Talk features The Barrow Group's co-artistic director, Lee Brock, the playwrights, Ebersole and Soerensen, along with Kerry Flanagan, Scott Price, Shawn Regruto, Lulu Roche, Herb Rubens and Karin Sibrava. Jade King Carroll, of Second Stage, directs the world premiere production.
