Off Broadway Close Up presents a lively overview of the great legacy of Off-Broadway musicals, including The Fantasticks, Jacques Brel ..., Dames At Sea, Godspell and Little Shop of Horrors as well as more recent shows like The Last Five Years, The Kid and Yank! Hosted by Sean Hartley, this concert celebrates the vibrant, creative world of Off-Broadway-an adventurous, up-close and intimate theater experience and a place to see new artists break new ground and find their voices.

The cast includes Christina Bianco (NEWSical the Musical, Tony and Tina's Wedding), Susan Blackwell ([title of show]), Carole Demas (Grease), Donna English (Hairspray, Lend Me a Tenor), Tom Flagg (The Fantasticks, Oklahoma!), Josh Grisetti (Broadway Bound, Enter Laughing), Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway, NEWSical the Musical), Jason Robinson (Cinderella, The Music Man), Benjamin Schrader (Ragtime, Avenue Q), Christopher Sieber (Shrek, Spamalot, Chicago) and Charles West (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Show Boat). Jihwan Kim, musical director.

Merkin Concert Hall's Broadway Close Up series, now in its 10th anniversary season, takes audiences behind the scenes of classic musicals old and new and gives them sneak peeks at some of the best new shows in production.
