Off Broadway Family Theatre will celebrate the 5th anniversary of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with a special performance at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC, on October 22nd, 2016.

A special "5th birthday performance" of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe will be presented on Saturday October 22nd, 2016 at 11:00 AM.

Audience members will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the cast, as well as receive themed party favors. A raffle will also take place for larger prizes. Children and adults alike are encouraged to come to the birthday performance dressed as their favorite Narnia character. Tickets are on sale for this and all performances via Telecharge.com.

The celebrations coincide with the 66th anniversary of the release of CS Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which was originally published on October 16th, 1950.

The Off-Broadway Alliance Award Nominated The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe played its first performance at St. Luke's Theatre on October 22nd, 2011. In this inventive and highly theatrical adaptation of C.S. Lewis's beloved tale from the Chronicles of Narnia, two actors play eight characters, both human and animal. Through the magic of theatre, we travel to Narnia with the Pevensie children, and get swept into their journey to stand with the great lion Aslan against the evil White Witch. As the children battle the forces of evil they discover that Love is the deepest magic of all. Audiences are encouraged to interact with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe via the show's social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@NarniaOffBway).

The current cast includes Jesse Corbin as "Peter," "Aslan", and others. Kelly Strandemo takes on the roles of "Lucy" and "The White Witch." Alexander Kirby and Rachel Osterhus are their understudies.

Off-Broadway Family Theatre provides quality theatrical experiences for family audiences by presenting both new and classic plays targeted towards children while still appealing to adults. Director Julia Beardsley O'Brien states, "We invite our audience to use its imagination. There is no fake snow or audience participation. Instead we create a 'magic circle' in the theatre. When the actors are INSIDE the circle, they are SHOWING you the story as it comes to life. When the actors step OUTSIDE the circle, they are TELLING you the story." Originally dramatized by LeClanché du Rand for Lincoln Center Theatre, this production features set and lighting design by Josh Iacovelli with costumes by Tom Long and masks by Jane Stein.

The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe performs every Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Theatre. There are additional Wednesday matinees scheduled throughout the school year. Running time is 45 minutes and the show is appropriate for children age five and older. For more information, visit www.narniaoffbroadway.com.
