NEW PLAYS, TOUGH TIMES: PLAYWRIGHTS' HORIZONS 2009/2010 SEASON

Thu, Sep 10, 7:30 pm, $15

Spend the night at 92YTribeca with the dynamic minds behind the upcoming 2009/2010 season at Playwrights Horizons for a first-look at their line-up of controversial and innovative new plays. Time Out New York's David Cote moderates a panel of the playwrights, who will offer insights into their creative processes and answer questions from the audience. Featured plays include: The Retributionists by Daniel Goldfarb; Circle Mirror Transformation by Annie Baker; This by Melissa James Gibson; Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris; A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick by Kia Corthron; The Burnt Part Boys: A New Musical by Mariana Elder, Chris Miller, and Nathan Tysen. www.92YTribeca.org/theater

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS SING-ALONG
Sat, Oct 24, 11 pm, $13 (includes one beer)

Tribeca may be a far cry from the Skid Row of Little Shop of Horrors, but you can still head downtown and cheer on everyone's favorite nerd Rick Moranis as he encounters a crazed dentist (Steve Martin) and battles a blood-sucking alien plant. And because we're not fond of drinking blood like Audrey II, we've included a beer as part of the ticket price. Host Raven Snook will start out the night with trivia & prizes, and as always, costumes are encouraged! Director: Frank Oz. 94 min. 1986. www.92YTribeca.org/film

ON STAGE WITH NEXT TO NORMAL

Wed, Oct 28, 7 pm, $10

Join us for an evening of music from the Tony-winning Broadway musical Next to Normal, featuring members of the cast and creative team, plus a brand-new song based on suggestions submitted via Twitter as part of the musical's "Twitter performance." www.92YTribeca.org/theater
