 NEWSical the Musical: End of the World Edition, the ever-evolving, completely unsanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof, will welcome Tommy Walker to the principal cast on April 6, 2012. Walker has been a swing in NEWSical since 2009. He replaces John Walton West, who played his final performance on April 4. 

Walker portrays more than a dozen outrageous characters in NEWSical including Newt Gingrich, Antonio Banderas, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart and Carson Kressley.

The announcement was made today by Tom D'Angora, producer of NEWSical the Musical: End of the World Edition

"Tommy Walker is one of the finest vocal impersonators in the city and we are honored to have him as a principal in NEWSical" said D'Angora. "He's extremely funny, incredibly versatile and he can sing his face off."

Walker is the lead singer for NYC rock band SWEET FIX. His stage credits include Bus StopEvil Dead: The MusicalThe SeagullThe Heroics and Titanic. Film credits include The ProducersThe Manchurian Candidate and School of Rock. TV credits include MTV's GamekillersAll My Children, Rescue Me and commercials for Fuse, MTV, Comedy Central, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and AXE. 

NEWSical was named Best New Musical of 2011 by the Off Broadway Alliance. Infectious melodies, razor-sharp lyrics, biting satire and more unpredictability than a Courtney Love tweet make NEWSical a laugh-filled, high octane musical revue of all the most talked-about headlines of the day.  Satirical spoofs of the most up-to-the-minute newsmakers and celebrities are added on a regular basis making NEWSical a constantly-changing rollercoaster of ridicule. 

From Occupy Wall Street to the 2012 Presidential Election and the national fight for marriage equality to the Mayan calendar, Oprah's failing network and the "death of soaps", all the biggest stories of the year in pop culture and politics are given composer-lyricist Rick Crom's signature skewering in a hilarious 90-minute revue the Associated Press calls "The Daily Show set to music! 

NEWSical the Musical: End of the World Edition also features Drama Desk nominee and Sirius Radio hostChristine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway, Talk Radio), Christina Bianco (Drama Desk nominee, Forbidden Broadway), Michael West (Forbidden Broadway, When Pigs Fly) and Amy Griffin (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). 

Crom has received three Drama Desk nominations for his work on NEWSical.  He has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose and The Goodbye Girl and on FX's critically-acclaimed series Louie starring comedianLouis C.K.  NEWSical is directed by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy).  Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson(set designer), Josh Starr (lighting designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).
