Lifewise Productions has announced that it will stage Mickele Hogan's MOURNING THE LIVING, a new drama directed by Alan Souza about caregivers of those afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, April 7th through April 22nd at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre at 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan. The official opening is on Thursday, April 13th at 8PM.

MOURNING THE LIVING is a new play about caregivers: the complexities they face, the choices they navigate, and the struggle to uphold obligations without losing sight of the potential in their individual futures.

The production is Mickele Hogan's first full-length play. Last year, the play received its world premiere in the Thespis Theater Festival. The play was also featured in the Huffington Post, Fiscal Times and a podcast episode of Agewyz media. "Mourning the Living" was inspired by Hogan's own experience as a caregiver for a woman with dementia while working for Home Instead Senior Care as well as other caregivers' experiences.

The cast features Jennifer Rau, Craig D'Amico, Christopher Bolan, Mary Leggio and Caroline Aimetti.

The production features lighting design by Patrick Bakalli, stage management by Lexi Langs and costume design by Kelly Le Vine. The assistant stage manager is Peter Royston. Lighting Assistant is AnDrew Carr. Understudy is John Anthony Gorman.
