KILLERS AND OTHER FAMILY Gets Extended At Rattlestick, Plays Thru 10/17

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that they have extended the first production of its 15th anniversary season. Killers and Other Family, the provocative play by Lucy Thurber, will play (5) five additional performances through Saturday, October 17th. Performances began on Thursday, September 17th and the show officially opened on Thursday, September 24th. It was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, October 11th, 2009.

In Killers and Other Family, just when Elizabeth thinks she has finally escaped her previous life, that life comes crashing back in when her brother and his best friend show up, on the run, demanding she hide them. Their arrival forces Elizabeth to truly confront her past, pushing her into a waking nightmare in which fears and memories become all too real.

Directed by Caitriona McLaughlin, the cast includes Aya Cash (Offices, The Pain and The Itch), Dashiell Eaves (The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Coram Boy), Shane McRae (Take Me Out), and Samantha Soule (The Philanthropist, Monstrosity).

The creative team is comprised of John McDermott (sets), Emily Rebholz (costumes), Ben Ehrenreich (lights), Isaac Butler (sound), David Anzuelo (fight choreography) and Eugenia Furneaux-Arends (props). Terri K. Kohler is Production Stage Manager, and Melissa Gregus is Assistant Stage Manager. John DiResta is Assistant Director.

Killers and Other Family has the following updated performance schedule: Monday at 8pm; Thursday - Saturday at 8pm; Sunday at 3pm. There will be (2) additional performances on Wednesdays, October 7th & 14th at 8pm. There will be no show on Saturday, October 10th. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater is located at 224 Waverly Place (off Seventh Avenue South - between West 11th & Perry Streets).

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will next present the World Premiere of Mando Alvarado's Post No Bills, directed by Michael Ray Escamillo. Performances will begin on Wednesday, November 11th. The show will officially open on Monday, November 16th and run through Sunday, December 13th, 2009.
