"ISAIAH'S DREAM - A Parade of Poets" performs 2 special pre-Thanksgiving shows ONE DAY ONLY at Shooting Star Theatre in South Street Seaport on Sunday, November 22, at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., courtesy of NY Artists Unlimited and MTP-Montauk Theatre Productions. Following the Seaport premiere, the Dream goes on a tour of libraries and schools throughout the boroughs. Centering on a Harlem boy visited by poets from around the world and throughout time, the show is appealing to people of all ages. Shashone Lambert plays Isaiah while Kubbi, Ben Strothmann, and Julia Sun bring to life such poets as Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Pablo Neruda, Julia de Burgos, Rabindranath Tagore, Etheridge Knight, Rumi, Wu Men, and others. The rich linguistic text is brought to life through dance, choreographed movement, percussion, music, and interaction with the audience. Children & families are heartily welcome.

Written by NY Artists Unlimited artistic director Melba LaRose ("Little Red - Girl from the Hood," "Ebony Black") and directed by Kenny Wade Marshall ("Bitterella," "Playthings"), this is a story about a boy finding his own voice in a poem about Martin Luther King. Based on a real African-American boy who attended the company's workshops and created the poem, the play is sure to inspire children and touch the hearts of people everywhere. Performances are followed by in-depth discussions with the audience. The assistant director for this project is Marguerite Einhorn.
