The Life + Death of Kenyon Phillips is a 90-minute rock opera that uses an interactive cabaret-variety show format - complete with burlesquers, aerialists, and other circus acts - to explore the past, present and future of downtown performance artist Kenyon Phillips.

The four-night engagement at The Box promises audiences new and old an intimate evening at the theatre unlike anything they've ever seen before. The Felliniesque production will feature all of the songs that fans of the Joe's Pub performances have come to know, and a few that have never been performed in front of an audience. Mr. Phillips expressed excitement at the opportunity to stage his show at The Box, stating: "Now the show can really let its freak flag fly. Certain elements that I had to cut from the earlier versions at Joe's Pub - like aerialists and tightrope walkers - can now be realized. And the new ending will have audience members up on their feet and singing."
