The Public Theater welcomes the return of PUBLIC STUDIO, which will present two new plays this spring by emerging and up-and-coming playwrights. The two plays will run in repertory from today, February 20 to March 1 in The Public's Shiva Theater and will be presented as pared-down productions with the low ticket price of only $10.

Following in the footsteps of the acclaimed Public Lab series, PUBLIC STUDIO continues to build on The Public's mission to support new and emerging artists and to continue making new work accessible to all audiences.

In this second year, PUBLIC STUDIO will present FIDELIS by Public Theater Emerging Writers Group alumna Christina Gorman, directed by Leah C. Gardiner, in repertory with PING PONG, written by Rogelio Martinez and directed by Kate Whoriskey. The two Public Studio plays will rehearse for two weeks, then run in repertory with each piece receiving seven performances over the course of twelve days.

"In our second year of Public Studio, we are delighted to welcome two thrilling writers, Christina Gorman and Rogelio Martinez," said Associate Artistic Director Mandy Hackett. "Both writers are turning to history to spin challenging tales of power and justice. The writers are daring and bold and we are galvanized to see the writers grapple with our history and larger political landscape in such ambitious and theatrical ways."

The cast of FIDELIS features McKinley Belcher III (Bix, Recruiter, Doctor), Dan Domingues (Drill Instructor, Santulo, Guedes, Carlin), Katie Flahive (Baby, Levenson's Assistant, Dana Reed), Nick Lehane (Cooper, Murphy, Sean), Nikiya Mathis (Jeanie, Raylan), Seth D. Moore (Nick), and Chris Stack (Buddy, Levenson).

The cast of PING PONG features Clea Alsip (Aubrey), Erin Gann (Glenn Cowan), Jennifer Ikeda (Jia), Steve Mellor (Richard Nixon), Ron Nakahara (Chairman Mao), Daniel Pearce (Henry Kissinger), Hansel Tan (Zhuang Zedong), and James Yaegashi (Zhau Enlai).

PUBLIC STUDIO features scenic design by Raul Abrego, costume design for Fidelis by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design for Ping Pong by Amanda Seymour, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, sound design by Nicholas Pope, and movement director for Ping Pong is Warren Adams.
